“I never thought that I would be on this path…”

Hello! I am Heather Taylor, I am agraduate from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photographic and Imaging Arts on the Visual Media track. During my time in college, I also completed two minors in American Sign Language/Deaf Studies and Marketing

I never thought that I would be on this path that I am on today. Photography and video work have always was a passion of mine, but it especially started during High School. Coming in to RIT, I was undecided and thinking that the path that wanted to be on was to become an American Sign Language Interpreter. Thanks to the guidance of my academic advisor from my Freshman year, my eyes were opened to the world of Visual Media as a new direction to go and follow. The opportunities that I had at RIT have helped me expand my horizons and better my skills with photography, video, and graphic building, accompanied by the software skills needed.

In the summer of 2021, I had completed a summer internship at WROC, in Rochester, where I learned more about the commericial production process. A few months later, during my fourth year of college, I returned to WROC to work full time in the Creative Services Department as a Promotions Editor.

After two years of working at WROC, I transferred back to my hometown, to the sister station in Harrisburg, Pennslyvania (WHTM), where I am currently a Creative Services Producer.
